The Spinney Brothers - Canadian Tour - New Music - Band Member Reunion

The Spinney Brothers Tour Canada!
It may not seem like a big deal that The Spinney Brothers, who live in Canada, are promoting a Canadian tour. But for a band that spends 75% of their lives touring the U.S., well, it really is a big deal to stay in their home country for a change! They'll be embarking on an 11-day trek that will take them through an extensive tour of the Province of Ontario as part of the winter concert series produced by the Northern Bluegrass Committee. The tour runs March 13th through 23rd. Canadian Tour Dates

New CD Update!
Good news for those waiting on new music from The Spinney Brothers - the record is almost complete! All the tracks and vocals have been recorded and editing and mixing have begun. With Ron Stewart once again at the producing helm, the band plans to have the project in the hands of their record label by the end of May with an expected release in September! The yet-to-be-titled CD features a cross selection of new songs including 2 originals from within the band as well as a new song from noted writers Bill Castle and Steve Watts, titled "Got My Music From Bill." Be sure to stay tuned to the band's website at www.SpinneyBrothers.com for more news on the what will be the band's 3rd release for Mountain Fever Records!

Rick and Allan Reunite With Past Band Member
The Spinney Brothers reunited with an original member of their band from over 25 years ago when Steve Jackson performed "Fox On The Run" with them at a recent concert in Florida. Steve's parents took Rick to his first bluegrass festival back in 1987, and Steve and Rick also performed this same song together at their high school graduation. Rick tells us, "Steve suffered a stroke in 1990 and although it changed the course of his life, it didn't change his great, positive attitude and outgoing personality." The reunion was captured on video and shared on the band's Facebook page. You can view it by clicking on the photo below or follow this link.

Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers - February updates

Grand Ole Opry and ET Record Shop - Recap
JMRR had a wonderful time in Nashville when they made their third appearance on the Grand Ole Opry and their debut appearance on Ernest Tubb's Midnight Jamboree on February 15th! The night started with an introduction by Grand Ole Opry member Jeannie Seely followed by the band's performance of "Bottom Of A Mountain" and the Grandpa Jones classic, "Fallen Leaves." Right after, Opry fiddler Earl White invited Joe to join him back onstage to play "Cherokee Shuffle" as the Opry Square Dancers kicked up their heels.

Around midnight, the band joined guest host Mike Scott for an evening of music at the Ernest Tubb Record Shop's Troubadour Theatre where JMRR performed "Some Kind Of War" and "Katy Daley" on the Midnight Jamboree. And to close out the evening, Joe joined Mike and Carl Jackson for a banjo grand finale of "Lonesome Road Blues."  Be sure to visit the band's Facebook page to see photos from the incredible evening and their YouTube channel to watch their performance of "Some Kind Of War."

Janet Davis Acoustic Music Grand Opening - March 7th
Joe and the Ramblers are proud to announce they will be assisting the Thompson family and their team for the Grand Opening of the new location for Janet Davis Acoustic Music in Bentonville, AR. Friday, March 7th, members of the band will each present workshops on their respective instruments, participate in a meet & greet reception and then present a concert that evening. All the festivities are free but seating is limited so please call ahead to reserve a spot.

The band is thankful Janet Davis Acoustic Music has been the official JMRR supply sponsor the past two years. In addition to supplying ALL things Bluegrass with fantastic service, JMRR and JDMC together have made large monetary donations to the Breast Cancer Awareness Fund and to the International Bluegrass Music Museum.

Visit www.JDMC.com for more information on this Grand Opening event!

New Music Update
Joe and all the Ramblers have been hard at work in the recording studio the past few weeks. The excitement is really building around a set of almost all new songs planned for a release on Rebel Records by late Spring. The guys are thankful to have songs from many of the top Bluegrass writers - Bill Castle, Brink Brinkman, Mike Evans, Jon Weisberger, Chris Stuart, Darrell Scott and more are represented. Some of the songs are so lonesome Mike got cold chills in the studio!
