Mountain Fever Records Announces the Release of Brand New Music from Hammertowne

Highways & Heartaches is Available Today!

Download on iTunes!

Mountain Fever Records announces the release of brand new music from Hammertowne. Highways & Heartaches is available today!

Hammertowne, consisting of Dave Carroll on guitar and vocals; Brent Pack on banjo; Scott Tackett on guitar and vocals; Chaston Carroll on mandolin and vocals; and Bryan Russell on bass and vocals; and newest member, Doug Bartlett on fiddle and vocals; hails from the traditional bluegrass hotbed of Eastern Kentucky. The camaraderie among these musicians was undeniable when they gathered in a studio as session musicians on a solo project in late 2011. The energy and musical compatibility was so strong that the musicians decided they wanted to continue, eventually signing with Mountain Fever Records and releasing their first, self-titled album in 2012. From its inception, the group’s identity has been defined by a hard-driving style of bluegrass that combines unique instrumentation with a distinctive knack for weaving vocal harmonies. Hammertowne creates their hard-driving sound with one foot in the traditional arena to honor those who paved the way before them, and the other in the progressive arena as reflected in their many original songs they write and perform. Band member David Carroll is highly regarded among the bluegrass community as a writing tour de force with his original songs becoming hits by prominent artists such as Lonesome River Band ("The Game Is Over"), Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out ("Old Kentucky Farmers"), Grasstowne ("My Old Guitar and Me"), and Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice ("It's Good to See The Homeplace Once Again"), among others.

Highways & Heartaches offers eleven tracks of solid bluegrass with all but three songs penned by Hammertowne band members. With Dave Carroll, Scott Tackett and Bryan Russell each sharing the lead vocals, this album provides plenty of variety. Ron Stewart lends his fiddle expertise to select cuts, but Hammertowne shines in their own rite throughout, especially on the lone instrumental, "Hansel's Barn Dance," written by Bryan Pack. Although Highways & Heartaches was released to radio programmers just last week, it has already secured the #1 spot on AirPlay Direct's Top 50 Bluegrass/Folk albums for April.

"When this band first contacted me a couple years ago, I had no idea they would present themselves as such a cohesive unit," stated Mark Hodges, President of Mountain Fever Records. "Each member brings their individual talents to the group but let's the other members shine equally, and that is what is reflected with Highways & Heartaches. The end result is an album that, from start to finish, creates a true listening experience, which is exactly the way it should be."

Hammertowne's Highways & Heartaches is now available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon and wherever great music is sold. For more about Hammertowne, visit www.hammertowneband.com. For more about Mountain Fever Records, visit www.mountainfever.com.

Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out Release New Music! "Brown County Red" Hits Radio Today!

Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out are proud to announce the long awaited release of new music on their newly formed label, Break-A-String"Brown County Red," the first single from the band's upcoming album drops to radio today.

For nearly 25 years, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out have proven their staying power and have firmly marked their place in bluegrass music as a powerhouse, headlining group, due in part to over 50 industry awards to their credit. But when it comes right down to it, it's the music, their own unique sound fronted by the golden voice of Russell Moore, that will be archived in the music history books long after the band has played their last note. IBMA's most awarded male vocalist with five trophies under his belt, along with veteran members Wayne Benson on mandolin and Justen Haynes on fiddle welcomed the two newest members, Keith McKinnon on banjo and Blake Johnson on bass at the end of 2013. Even after being a professional musician his entire adult life, Moore is still on fire with enthusiasm and is quick to want to speak about the new configuration of IIIrd Tyme Out and the band's next chapter. "Keith and Blake have been in the band now for a little over a year and we're all very excited about the makeup of the group as it is right now," he states. "The stuff that they bring to the group to make the IIIrd Tyme Out sound is special. We've been looking forward to getting in the studio, to document and to put something down that shows what we have to offer now." The excitement from Moore continues when the subject of starting his own record label comes up. "A couple years ago we decided to start our own music label and it's called Break-A-String. It's exciting to be in that much control of everything that's going on around you."

With new life breathed into the band, a new record label, and an armful of first rate songs in tow, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out sought out a new recording venue with only one familiar piece requested; that they bring Grammy Award winning engineer Brandon Bell back on board. Bell engineered the band's previous album and the team discovered that the combination worked like a well-oiled machine. And with that, the band landed at Southern Ground Nashville, owned by country music star Zac Brown, where Bell is the studio director and chief engineer. The studio's staff welcomed the band with open arms and were thrilled to have this supergroup as the first band to record a bluegrass record at the historic site.

Written by Kyle Burnett, "Brown County Red" is the first single from the new album due for release this summer. A quick three-quarter time signature, the song will immediately grab the attention of listeners for its uniqueness. Add in the swift fiddle kick supported by solid mandolin chop, some of the finest banjo picking and bass playing in the business, and then top it off with Moore's unmistakable power-driven vocal and signature IIIrd Tyme Out harmonies akin to the very early years in the band's history, and "Brown County Red" will make for a sure-fire hit!

"Brown County Red" is available to radio programmers via AirplayDirect or a digital download file upon request. For more information on Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, visitwww.IIIrdTymeOut.com

Mountain Fever Records Releases Debut, Self-titled Album from Adkins & Loudermilk

First Single - "Backside of Losing" - Debuts on Bluegrass Top 20 Songs Chart
Download Adkins & Loudermilk on iTunes.

Mountain Fever Records announces the release of the debut, self-titled album from Adkins & Loudermilk. This highly anticipated project has already produced a chart-making first single with "Backside of Losing."

What started out as two impressive solo careers has morphed into what is already being described as a powerhouse team of vocals and songwriting. Dave Adkins has already had a successful career fronting his former band, Republik Steel, and Edgar Loudermilk has been known as one of the most solid bass-playing vocalists in bluegrass, having toured extensively with the likes of Rhonda Vincent, Marty Raybon and IIIrd Tyme Out. But when Adkins & Loudermilk met a couple years ago and began melding their talents of singing and songwriting together, it became clear to them that forming a new duo was much more musically exciting for them than going it alone. So in 2013, the two officially launched their band and set out touring while still promoting successful solo projects on Mountain Fever Records. Since the band's formal beginning, the duo has been delighting audiences across the country gaining faithful fans who have patiently waited two years for the release of their debut album, appropriately titled Adkins & Loudermilk.

This new album features 12 songs that, by design, give equal due to both men as individual artists, while still shining a spotlight on their collective talents. The balance of Adkins' growling, rock-tinged vocals combined with the bluegrass tenor vocal chops of Loudermilk, will offer listeners ample opportunity to enjoy all aspects of Adkins & LoudermilkThe album kicks off with back to back,  decidedly bluegrass numbers, "Georgia Mountain Man," sung by Loudermilk, and "Cut The Rope" featuring Adkins. With writing credits going to both men throughout, the album also features strong contributions from other writers of note including David Morris, Mark Brinkman and Hoyt Axton, among others. "Backside of Losing," the first single from the album written by Adkins and Mark Brinkman, has already been a hit with radio programmers and fans, making its debut on the Bluegrass Today Top 20 Songs chart. One of the strongest songs and performances from the project is "Weeds," written by David Morris and Chris Dockins, and a winner in this year's "Hazel Dickens Song Contest." From bluegrass to blues, up-tempos to ballads, Adkins & Loudermilk have come out of the gate full force with their debut, self-titled album on Mountain Fever Records.

Adkins & Loudermilk is now available via digital download at iTunes and wherever great music is sold. For more about Adkins & Loudermilk, visit www.adkinsloudermilk.com. For more about Mountain Fever Records, visit www.mountainfever.com.
